Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social life. Its mission is social clarity, and its objective is for people to have a matching understanding. An elaboration follows.
Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social life. Its mission is social clarity, and its objective is for people to have a matching understanding.
Work-life balance is the equitable prioritization of the effort to meet the demands of a person’s employment and those of that person’s activities outside of work. Such a proposition draws a line between work and social life; it claims that activities at work are not part of social life.
Written by Nickantony Quach and Mark Canny, the book Thumos: Adulthood, Love & Collaboration, also known as the original Thumos textbook (OTB), presents the Thumos Philosophy to fulfill the vision of unwanted drama minimized systematically for all. Thumos philosophy, also known as PVD Philosophy, considers activities at work as part of social life.
Thumoslang is the language used in the original Thumos textbook to describe the rules of Thumos Philosophy. The suffix -lang in Thumoslang means language, vocabulary, and nomenclature. A nomenclature system is the formal vocabulary of a specialized field of work. The nomenclature’s purpose is to eliminate misunderstandings in the conversation between two specialists in the same field.
Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social life. The following Thumoslang thumbnail definitions elaborate further.
- Drama; that means, the exaggeration of benign events.
- Thumos; that means, no unwanted drama.
- Implication; that means, intimate involvement.
- Social clarity; that means, reported implications.
- Thumoslang; that means, social clarity.
- Nomenclature; that means, operating terms for matching understanding.
- Social life; that means, living and dealing with people.
You would achieve clarity for a social situation if you understood its implications. Thumoslang’s mission is social clarity, whereas its objective is for people to have a matching understanding.
Technically, Thumoslang is a mere collection of all thumbnail definitions in the Thumoslang database, curated by the Quach & Mustafayev Group. QMG published late 2022 all its entries in The Dictionary of Thumoslang 2024 (DT24).
Life in 184 Words, also known as Thumoslang on the Run (OTR), is the first book written to teach Thumoslang. This book, Thumoslang for Character Renovation (TCR), is the second one. A print edition is available for OTB, DT24, OTR, and TCR. These four books should be available in every public library. Local citizens can check them out and learn how to minimize unwanted drama in their lives systematically. That would be a small step toward increasing the nearby population’s productivity.
Thumoslang’s immense power rests with its thumbnail definitions. TCR’s Chapter 35, When a Concept is Active, explains further. Readers will understand why many consider Thumoslang (1) a science, (2) a linguistic tool for analysis, and (3) a level of analysis.
